    Chemical risk policy, also known as chemicals policy, concerns issues pertaining to chemical risk management. Chemicals policy can be related to government actions, market forces, industry best practices, and product stewardship. NPRA’s Petrochemical Program closely follows developments in the area of chemicals policy, not just in government but also in the marketplace.

    NPRA is committed to a balanced national energy policy that allows the free market to supply American consumers with safe, reliable, and affordable petrochemical products and energy. This section discusses energy supply, the impact that taxes and punitive regulation can have on energy production, and the factors associated with gasoline prices.

    NPRA’s members are committed to maintaining and complying with all applicable environmental standards and regulations during all aspects of their operations. NPRA supports legislation and regulation that promotes, protects, and enhances public health and the environment while fostering a strong economy and allowing American businesses to remain competitive in the global marketplace.

    The security of our facilities has long been a top priority for refiners and petrochemical manufacturers. NPRA’s members continue to be heavily engaged in maintaining and enhancing facility security to ensure the safety and well-being of employees, communities, and the public.

    NPRA’s members realize that their employees are the heart and soul of our industry. Our members understand that fair treatment and respect of the workforce builds loyalty and good workmanship, and NPRA members follow all national and local fair labor practices.
